The will of Joshua Stopford of Croydon, clerk, was made on 8 May 1792 and proved on 27 June 1792. The executor was his sister, Margaret Stopford of Ashton Under Lyne, Lancashire. According to the probate register copy, Joshua left:
- £30 to Elizabeth Gibson “who now resides with me”, on condition that she was still living with him at the time of his death.

Below is my transcription of the probate register copy of the will. Bold and italic formatting reflect the different writing styles used in the document, and I have added paragraph breaks to make it easier to read.
